Barefoot Makes List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies
September 19th, 2007
Barefoot has been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies, making it on to the magazine’s inaugural “Inc. 5000″ list.
“It’s always a pleasure to be recognized,” said Doug Worple, the agency’s founder and executive creative director. “We’re certainly proud of our growth, but it’s not our focus. Great creative that improves our clients’ businesses is the ball we keep our eye on. Growth is a natural result of doing just that, so it’s sort of icing on the cake.”
According to Worple, Barefoot has basically doubled in size over the past two-and-a-half years to 70 employees and while growing billings nearly 30% per year since 2004. This growth is largely due to the addition of in-house interactive services.
“We made a strategic decision three years ago to invest in offering digital marketing services,” said Worple. “That was at a time when the initial dot-com chaos had settled and companies were beginning to make a more thoughtful and long-term commitments to digital marketing in its many forms.”
Worple was recently recognized by Ernst & Young as an “Entrepreneur of the Year” in Cincinnati and is now in the running for national honors in that prestigious recognition program.
Founded in 1993, Barefoot is one of the fastest growing agencies in the country. Their client roster also includes: Del Monte, John Wiley & Sons Publishing, Novartis, Procter & Gamble and the Miller Brewing Company.
